News Time

Apr.23 is the World Reading Day. Last week is our Dear Reading Festival. On Monday, we had an opening ceremony. Mr. Wayne and students in grade 5 acted “Three Little Pigs and the Bad Wolf”. And students recommended their favorite books to others. Everyone was so excited. On Tuesday, some special guys came. They are famous people, parents, former students or teachers and even the principle. They told us their stories with books. Oh, so surprised! On Wednesday, we read some books about the days in revolution. They made us remember those times. So unforgettable.  On Thursday, we cos-played as our favorite person and we hosted the closing ceremony. It was broadcasted live by CCTV. We invited some famous people and foreigners to read books. Some students had BEEPS Talk and drama performance. We had a book fair, reading pavilion and a flash. Oh nice! On Friday, we chatted the feeling of our reading time. It was a big success.

Recently, we had a singing race in Grade 4, Grade 5 and Grade6. Each class had two songs. One is about our great country--China, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of our party. Each class had a musician team. They are very skillful. Another one is the song every class chose by themselves. For example, Class 7 in Grade 6. Their song is about greetings from the four seasons. I was deeply moved by the angel-like voice. Then there is Class 6. Their song is about ordinary road. I like this song very much. Life is wonderful. The world is so big. I must go out and have a try! The fourth is Class 5. Their song is about memory. After 1 month, we will leave primary school. We should cherish the time. The fifth is class 2. They hope the students can bear the hardships and fly high in the society like a butterfly. The sixth is Class 3. They sang about how much they want to love the world. The young pioneers will become the little red flowers of the motherland. The seventh is Class 8. They sang about youth. We wish students will be always the youth in the future. The last one is class one. They sang about the good luck. I wish the students good luck and success in their life. The first place is Class 4. Their song is Zoobi Doobi in the movie Three Idots. They danced happily. It was wonderful. I wish my classmates love music after primary school. I also wish the party will become stronger and stronger.

Letter Time

This letter is from Su Huiqiao, from Class4, Grade 6. It’s a picture book A New Planet A New School written by her. The school opens in 3030. Lisa comes to Neptune School because of the destruction of the earth. The people are almost the same: a round face, two ears and two big feet. Lisa’s family as the only survivors on earth looks different from the people on Neptune. Lisa is so scared that she never sees anyone who has so strange looking, and she tries to talk to them but no one speaks to her. Her deep depression confirms that a girl offers to say hello. She is a little strange: she has a lot of long blue hair and the whole body is blue…her name is Tina. They become good friends as they talk. She also tells Lisa how to adapt to the environment here. Gradually Lisa also adapts to the environment here. Tina tells Lisa:” I don’t like anyone else. People treat me like a monster.” Lisa says :”The same as me, so let’s be monsters together!” Lisa and Tina both smile for the first time in the school…The two of them encourage each other. Not so self-abased, they take the initiative to play with everyone and are accepted. They are so happy…

Share Time

Recently, we read a fairy story book, Little Prince. This book tells the adventurous experiences of little prince from his planet B612 to the earth. He is hurt by a rose. So he leaves there and travels into space. On his all-alone journey, the little prince meets different kinds of people, which include a king, a conceited man, a tippler, a businessman, a lamplighter and a geographer. Next he comes to the earth and becomes the friend of a fox. He helps a pilot in the desert. In the end, he dies under the help of a snake and his soul goes back to his planet. This book is very interesting and teaches me a lot. He teaches me to be honest and love others. All of us should never lose the pureness of childhood. Little Prince is worth reading. Let’s read Little Prince!
